For the sixth year in a row, the Ysleta Independent School District is the highest-rated school district in the El Paso area – and every one of its nine high schools earned an “A” rating in the 2026 A-F accountability ratings released Friday by the Texas Education Agency (TEA).
Ysleta ISD earned an overall score of 88 (B+) for academic performance and growth in the 2025-26 school year. The district also earned the highest College, Career, and Military Readiness (CCMR) score of 95% among the area’s three largest school districts – that means the vast majority of students graduate from Ysleta ISD prepared for college, the workforce, or military service.
Once again, Ysleta ISD remains among the top-rated school districts in Texas, including charter schools.
“The success we’ve seen over the past decade at the Ysleta Independent School District reflects the outstanding quality of teaching and leadership across all of our campuses,” said Superintendent of Schools Dr. Xavier De La Torre. “Student achievement and growth doesn’t happen by chance – it happens because of what takes place within the four corners of the classroom every day. We’re proud of the talented people who are leading and teaching at every campus, turning the promise and potential of our students into progress.”
Nine High Schools, Nine “A” Ratings
Every Ysleta ISD high school earned an “A” rating in 2026. They are Bel Air, Del Valle, Eastwood, Hanks, Parkland, Riverside, and Ysleta high schools; Valle Verde Early College High School; and Young Women’s Leadership Academy.
“This means that every student in grades 9-12 at Ysleta ISD is attending an “A”-rated school – this is a first in our region,” said Dr. De La Torre, adding that the district also earned a Postsecondary Readiness distinction designation for the third year in a row. “It supports our strong belief in having smaller high schools where we know our students by need and by name.”
